How our CliCode works.

YOU may have seen the little black and white squares containing seemingly random patterns in our Motoring supplement recently and wondered what it's all about.

They're called QR (Quick Response) codes and offer an interactive experience marrying print and online media. It's our way of offering our tech-savvy readers a new and exciting way to enhance their reading experience.

We don't always have space in our newspaper to publish more than one or two pictures of any new vehicle, which is why we offer photo galleries on our sister website, www.motoring.co.za.

Here's where the beauty of the QR code (supplied to us by CliCode) comes in. Instead of having to type out a long web address in your phone's internet browser, you simply open the i-nigma application (which reads the code), point your cellphone camera at the CliCode and it takes you straight to the online picture gallery or video.

It works best with smart phones but is compatible with many other internet-enabled camera cellphones too, and all you have to do to get connected is a one-time free download of the i-nigma software from www.clicode.mobi.

So get connected and check out today's online galleries of our exclusive test of the beautiful Ferrari 458 Italia supercar, the new Audi Q3 compact SUV which makes its world debut, the new single-cab Volkswagen Amarok , and the striking BMW 640i Convertible.
